Welcome to Arana Bridge Club
... where visitors, beginners, members and guests are always welcome.
Our modern air-conditioned (set to 24°C, please dress accordingly) club house located in the Ferny Grove Sportfields in Tramway Street at Ferny Grove in north-west Brisbane comfortably accommodates 40 tables. Ample parking and disabled access are available.
Currently, we have around 250 home members and 75 non-home members. We cater for all levels of experience with beginners' classes starting (usually) in March and July. Help with play is available after completing the lessons.
Bridge hands are computer dealt with personal scorers and hand records available at every session. With bridgemate scoring, results are available at the end of play, and on our web site shortly thereafter.
We play regular duplicate sessions on Monday (am, pm), Tuesday (am), Wednesday (am), Friday (am) and Saturday afternoon. Novice Bridge (< 50 MPs) is on Monday afternoon; Social Bridge is on Thursday afternoon.
Table fees are $6.00 for members and $7.50 for visitors. Session winners (outright/ handicap on alternate weeks) receive a free game voucher.
New members are always welcome - membership fee is just $15 per year (plus $15.80 QBA and $15.80 ABF affiliation fees if you're not already paying these through another club membership) and a once only joining fee of $10.
Arana conducts two congresses per year: a one-day Swiss teams in February and a Swiss pairs & teams weekend in May/June.
Dawn & Jim's Refresher Lessons are on Thursdays at 12:30.
Kathleen & Mike Le Voi present seminars for improving players at 1:30 to 3:30 pm on Tuesdays, commencing 9 April.
